So I got some oatmeal (as you can see from my previous entry) and it came in a Starbucks bag. They always have clever little sayings on them, so I figured I'd share.
"You're holding something special. A tasty treat. A thoughtful gift. All inside a handy carrier. Which becomes a lunch bag. A puppet. A keep-it-new book cover. A garden tool holder. A "bring a few CDs over for dinner" carrier. Unwrapped, it's a sketch pad. With handles. So reuse it. Reincarnate it. Re-imagine it. And when it's served its every purpose, recycle it."
I love to recycle. I love to reuse. Mike hates it (the reusing part, not the recycling part, he recycles). I will save containers from sour cream, yogurt, whatever I can, so I can put leftovers in them. He hates it. So, thus, I do not do it anymore. Unless I can sneak it in. He's really all about NO CLUTTER. I understand this, I really do, especially living with his mom.... ;) but there are some things that I would like to do more of.
When we have kids (he says one, I say 2, we're still working on that one....) I would LOVE to cloth diaper. He's not so keen on it. Why do I want to do this? To save the world, of course! But honestly, because I don't like the idea of all the disposable diapers in land fills (there are other reasons, but that's my main one.). I want to do my part, how little or big it may be. We have time to discuss this, and I think he might be seeing it a little more my way. I can put it in "guy" terms for him, "babe, if we CD, we can save a lot of money, and you can buy more VWs!" - I think it may give me the upperhand, in the long run. ;)
